Description of the flag

The Naval Cadet Association of 1898, Valkyrien, is the student association of the Royal Norwegian Naval Academy. Valkyrien was founded in 1898 by Christoffer B. Meyer, and has since then functioned as an association with the aim of safeguarding social interests at the Royal Norwegian Naval Academy.

A sports club known as Valkyrien Idrettslag also operates through the cadet association, and it operates in Bergen (Laksevåg).

The flag of Sjøkadettforeningen av 1898 Valkyrien (lit. The Naval Cadet Association of 1898 Valkyrie) is black, edged yellow, with a large yellow star inside a rope ring.
